Godswill Akpabio, the immediate-past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, has surmounted the initial electoral tensions with Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, by paying him a courtesy visit.

The meeting, held on Friday at the Executive Council Chambers of the Governor’s Office in Uyo, demonstrated Akpabio’s willingness to move beyond political differences.

Akpabio was joined by several Principal Officers of the Senate and members of the National Assembly during the visit.

During the meeting, Akpabio emphasized the importance of Governor Eno’s efforts in fostering unity across party lines for the benefit of all citizens of the state.

Recall that Akpabio had backed the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the 2023 election after he fell out with his successor, Udom Emmanuel who heavily backed Eno to succeed him as Governor in Akwa Ibom.
