Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has forecasted major upheavals in the Nigerian telecommunications and cable TV industries.

In a statement released to the press, Primate Ayodele predicted the eventual demise of DStv in Nigeria. He attributed this to rising prices that will drive customers away. Subsequently, he foresees the emergence of an indigenous cable network that will gain global recognition.

“DStv will become extinct, and a new cable network will take its place,” said Ayodele. “This indigenous network will offer superior quality and affordability.”

Regarding Globacom, Primate Ayodele predicts a period of challenges. He foresees a “gang-up” of competitors threatening the company’s dominance. However, he also predicts that Globacom will expand its reach in rural areas.

“Globacom will face opposition from a new telecommunications company,” Ayodele explained. “This company will disrupt Globacom’s frequency and pose a significant threat.”

Ayodele also warned of potential labor unrest in the telecommunications industry due to new regulations imposed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

“The NCC will introduce new laws that could trigger strikes among network providers,” he said.

Furthermore, Primate Ayodele cautioned the industry about potential challenges related to tariffs, protests, and security breaches.

“Tariffs will increase, and the government will impose sanctions on some companies,” he said. “MTN and Airtel should be prepared for network issues and fines. Recharge card vouchers may also become a source of insecurity in the future.”
