Home-based cancer care platform Reimagine Care is expanding its partnership with Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System beyond its flagship hospital, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, to offer oncology patients digital, virtual and in-home care.
Reimagine Care partners with providers and health plans to coordinate care in the home to avoid unnecessary inpatient visits. Reimagine clinicians can remotely monitor patients, work with oncologists to determine whether patients need additional services and send home care workers to assist.
Memorial Hermann and Reimagine established their partnership last year and announced news of Memorial Hermann’s investment in Reimagine Care.
Through the partnership, cancer patients have 24/7 access to a team of oncology specialists. Patients can connect with a team member via SMS text, video and phone to receive oncology-focused educational content, address concerns about their symptoms or receive at-home care, if needed.
“We’re thrilled about this expanded partnership with Memorial Hermann and what it means for the future of patient care. By deepening our collaboration, we can combine Memorial Hermann’s extensive resources with our innovative solutions to make a real difference in how patients experience their cancer care,” Dan Nardi, CEO of Reimagine Care, told MobiHealthNews in an email.
“This is all about making care more personal, efficient and effective. We believe this expansion will not only enhance the quality of care we deliver but also bring about meaningful improvements in patient outcomes. It’s a big step forward, and we’re eager to see the positive changes it will bring.”
THE LARGER TREND
Earlier this year, Reimagine secured an investment from Oncology Ventures, a cancer-focused venture capital fund, though the funding amount was not made public.
Reimagine also announced a partnership with healthcare provider Michiana Hematology Oncology (MHO) in Northern Indiana to extend cancer care services beyond the clinic’s walls.
Last year, Reimagine Care announced it was partnering with in-home care provider Denver-based DispatchHealth to provide oncology patients access to virtual-to-home care and coordinated care between Reimagine Care, DispatchHealth and the patient’s primary oncology care team.
It also partnered with the Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders in Dallas-Fort Worth to offer patients a home-based supportive care and symptom management program.
In 2022, Reimagine scored $25 million in Series A funding and announced a partnership with complex care management platform Memora Health. Reimagine would leverage Memora’s clinical intelligence platform to scale its virtual care center to support cancer patients and caregivers at home.
Reimagine Care has also partnered with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus to provide care to bone marrow transplant patients and California-based City of Hope.
