Paul Walter Hauser has lined up a ton of great film projects over the past month, and one of them is Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic 4.
We have no idea who he’s playing in the film, but in a recent interview with ScreenRant, he teased the characters revealing that it’s an established character from the comic lore.
When asked to confirm his involvement with the film, Hauser said: “I know what that question is leading to, which is the answer as to which character I’m to play.”
He continued: “So all I can say is that I, in some iteration, am in the movie The Fantastic 4 until I get fired or recast. So I can’t say anything about the character I’m playing, but know that it is in the sort of lexicon and mythology of The Fantastic Four stories.”
He added: “And it’s a very distinct character that I’m excited to play and I’m kind of mapping out what I’m doing with that right now. But I’ve always wanted to be a part of a cinematic universe.
“I spent a lot of time trying to campaign to play the Penguin in the Matt Reeves film, and that of course went to Colin Farrell and he did a masterful job and it was totally different than what I was trying to do.
“So I really appreciate Marvel giving me the time of day and entrusting a role to me in some capacity that I get to be a part of that family. I’m really excited to partake in.”
It’s going to be interesting to see who Hauser ends up playing in the film. It sounds like he’s excited about it, and that he’s going to have a fun time bringing the character to life.
The rest of the cast includes Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning) as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman; Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch; and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Punisher, The Bear) as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.
Ralph Ineson (Harry Potter, The Witch, The First Omen) plays the main villain Galactus and Julia Garner (Ozark, Inventing Anna) will take on the role of Shalla-Bal, who is an incarnation of Silver Surfer.
The movie is set in the 1960s, and the screenplay comes from Josh Friedman, who was brought in to rewrite the script originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
The movie will start shooting mid-summer in England.
