The demonstrators, part of the “Say No To Protest” campaign organized to oppose the #EndBadGovernance protests, vented their frustration in a viral video.

According to the protesters, they were abandoned by the organizers after the rally.

“Tinubu said they should call us to give us support and that he doesn’t want protest. He said he would give us support. “We are here very early in the morning, no food no water, the drivers were left stranded without being paid,” one demonstrator said. “We are here, men, women, and children all abandoned. Nigeria has no president. We don’t have a leader,” one demonstrator said.

When asked if they would now join the nationwide protests scheduled to begin on August 1, the demonstrators confirmed they would participate. “Yes, we will join the protest,” they stated. The pro-government rally at Eagles Square featured placards reading “Say No To Protest,” aiming to counter the planned nationwide protests criticizing the government’s handling of economic hardships.
