I’ve got a trailer here for you to watch for a new horror thriller titled Starve Acre, which stars Matt Smith (Doctor Who) and Morfydd Clark (The Rings of Power) and it looks like it’s going to tell a twisted and disturbing story.

In the film, “After relocating to their remote family estate Starve Acre, archaeologist Richard and his wife Juliette find their relationship tested when their young son starts exhibiting strange behaviour.

“As familial fractures deepen, Richard digs into the dark and disturbing folklore surrounding his childhood home. Thick with portentous atmosphere and rich in bold stylistic choices, Kokotajlo’s meditation on grief & memory roots itself as an instant classic of contemporary folk horror.”

The movie was written and directed by Daniel Kokotajlo and it also stars Erin Richards, Sean Gilder, Robert Emms, and Roger Barclay.

The film seems to be getting good reviews and is said to take audiences on “a decent into madness”. It will be released in select US theaters and on VOD on July 26th, 2024.
