Tours and activities technology startup TripAdmit has raised $1 million in funding led by DataOp.

TripAdmit develops in-tour engagement solutions for tour
guides, designed to streamline tipping and review collection. The company’s
TipDirect app is a digital tipping solution that enables tour guides to receive
tips directly through their mobile devices. By tapping a near field
communication (NFC) card or scanning a QR code, customers can transfer tips to
the guides’ bank accounts.

In addition, TripAdmit has utilized OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology
to enhance its platform with AI-assisted review capabilities. With this
feature, the company intends to enable guests to draft their feedback independently
or with AI assistance to deliver reviews that provide
insights for operators.

With DataOp’s funding, TripAdmit plans to expand its footprint across North America and
Europe.

“The past
12 months have seen huge technical achievements from our development team,”
said John Maguire, co-founder and CEO of TripAdmit.

“TripAdmit is transforming
the tipping and review collection landscape for tour guides, offering an
innovative and secure solution that aligns with today’s cashless and digital
trends. This latest round of funding will help us continue to develop this
technology and take it to new markets while strengthening our leadership
position in our existing markets.”

“We invest in companies that develop
innovative technology to streamline processes and solve critical problems,”
said Glen Magee, CFO at DataOp sister company ComOp.

“We immediately saw the potential for TripAdmit
to drive efficiency in the growing tours and activities market with its
industry leading, ground-breaking digital tipping technology. We are thrilled
to partner with their highly technical and growth-minded team to help build a
successful company that’s leading the way in travel.”
