Apple Studios has acquired the rights to develop a film titled Off Season, and Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible, Napoleon) will star in and produce the film.
There are no details on the plot, but the film is described as a femme fatale thriller that is set in a luxury resort on Mexico’s Mayan Riviera. It’s not hard to imagine Kirby taking on the lead role in a femme fatale movie.
Apple picked up the spec from Holland, Michigan‘s Andrew Sodroski, and the script was developed by 42 Films with Peter Dealbert and Ben Pugh producing. No director is yet attached to the project.
Kirby will next be seen in Ron Howard’s upcoming thriller Eden, which looks like an interesting film. She is currently in production on Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, in which she plays Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman.
Kirby is also starring opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh in the Netflix drama Night Always Comes.
