Tonight is Game 7 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals, with the Edmonton Oilers facing off the Florida Panthers. Before the two NHL teams cut up the ice, Alanis Morissette sang the respective National Anthems for both countries—“O Canada” and “The Star-Spangled Banner”—while fans loudly sang along. (The Canadian singer opted not to sport an NHL jersey for either team, as she’s long rooted for her hometown heroes, the Ottawa Senators.) Watch Morissette’s rendition of the songs below.
Next month, Alanis Morissette will headline the final night of Pitchfork Music Festival 2024 in Chicago. She’ll take the stage on Sunday, July 21. Also performing that day are Muna, Brittany Howard, Jessica Pratt, Grandmaster Flash, Mannequin Pussy, Crumb, Model/Actriz, and many more artists. Check out the full lineup and find tickets below.
Morissette recently announced a new reissue of her 1998 album Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, out September 6 via Rhino, and a digital deluxe edition featuring bonus songs. Her most recent album of all new material was 2022’s The Storm Before the Calm, which was her 10th studio LP overall.
