HUGHIE FURY has returned to boxing after almost three years away from the sport.
The 29-year-old marked his boxing revival with a dominant points win over Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko.
Hughie’s last bout before his comeback fight was against Christian Hammer back in 2021.
The heavyweight was sidelined with long Covid and other health issues before he made his highly anticipated return against Dovbyshchenko in April.
Hughie, Tyson Fury’s cousin, went all six rounds with the Ukrainian as he looks to build up his fitness levels and remove any ring rust.
When is Hughie Fury fighting next?
Hughie Fury will be back in action again in just a few weeks after his comeback win over Dovbyshchenko.
Fury will box on the Jessica McCaskill vs Lauren Price undercard on May 11 in Cardiff.
The heavyweight’s opponent has not yet been revealed.
Hughie Fury’s next fight on May 11 will be available to watch live on Sky Sports.
What has Hughie Fury said about his time out of boxing?
Speaking to Sky Sports, Fury said: “It’s been one thing after another. I had long Covid then I had other problems. It’s just been a nightmare.
“As one problem came, another was arising. It’s been three years of pretty much hell.
“To not be able to do what I used to be able to do was a nightmare. So just to get back now and put that behind me is a weight off my shoulders.
“The most important thing for me now is getting the ring rust off and getting under the lights and doing what I do best.
“I thought I wasn’t going to box again. From a young kid, I’ve put everything in, nothing else, just boxing.
“I thought that was it. My dreams, of putting in all the hard work and dedication and my life was down the drain.
“I can finally see the light and get into the mix.”
