Modupe Onitiri-Abiola, widow of late businessman and politician MKO Abiola, is wanted by authorities after posting a video online expressing support for the invasion of the Oyo State Governor’s Office and House of Assembly by self-proclaimed Yoruba Nation agitators on Saturday.

In response, the Oyo State government demolished the building where Onitiri-Abiola recorded the video, which declared Yorubaland a sovereign nation. The building, located in Ibadan’s Oluyole area, was a two-story structure.

A subsequent viral video revealed that the demolition occurred after security agents discovered the building was also being used as an armory. Onitiri-Abiola reportedly recorded the broadcast in the building and left before posting it on social media.

According to sources, Onitiri-Abiola, who is currently on the run, was using a downstairs room to store weapons, uniforms, boots, and other equipment. While this claim has not been officially confirmed, the state government has seized the property.

“When the demolition was taking place, neighbors denied seeing her,” a source said. “However, some claimed she lived in the house.”

Security personnel and demolition workers were observed lingering around the premises. The room believed to have been used for the broadcast was in disarray, with personal belongings strewn across the floor. A portion of the building was demolished, while another remained intact. CONTINUE READING
